Portugal international and Al Nassr forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has acknowledged that his playing career is winding down.
Cristiano Ronaldo, a celebrated recipient of the Ballon d’Or on five occasions, has seen a shift in his career following his departure from Manchester United and subsequent move to Saudi Pro League club, Al Nassr in December 2022.
While winding down his illustrious career at 39 years old, his current priority lies in making meaningful contributions to his team and finding joy in playing the sport he loves.
Following his goal in their 2-1 victory over Al Rayyan in the AFC Champions League, Ronaldo noted that he is enjoying the last days of his football career.
The Portugal international said: “I’m just enjoying playing football now as I know I don’t have much time left on the pitch.
“It is not important to me now to be the best player or to win awards. What is important to me now is to enjoy and help my team.”
Meanwhile, when Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Al Nassr against Al Rayyan on Tuesday night, September 30, he was seen celebrating while pointing to the sky with both hands raised above his head.
After the game, he was asked about the celebration, and the Portuguese football icon revealed that he dedicated the goal to his late father. He added: “Today’s goal had a different flavour, I would love for my father to be alive because today is his birthday.”
