The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Gbadebo Adeniyi Adeoye wanted.
The EFCC, in a statement on Wednesday, accused Gbadebo Adeniyi Adeoye of engaging in activities such as obtaining money under false pretenses, committing criminal breach of trust, and participating in money laundering.
The anti-graft agency disclosed that Adeoye, 56 years old, hails from the Ife East Local Government Area in Osun State and gave his most recent address is 15 Hassan Adamu Street, Guzape, in the Federal Capital Territory.
The EFCC urged members of the public with useful information about Adeoye or his whereabouts to contact the nearest office of the agency or call its numbers.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into allegations of bribery against some of its operatives in a case involving popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky.
Olukoyede ordered the investigation following the allegation by a social media activist and influencer, Martins Vincent Otse a.k.a VeryDarkMan, that Bobrisky bribed some EFCC officials with the sum of ₦15,000,000 to drop the money laundering case against him and also keep him in a private apartment instead of a normal prison during his jail term for money laundering.
VeryDarkMan had made the allegations in a now-viral video trending on various social media platforms.
In reaction, the EFCC chairman, in a statement released on Tuesday through the spokesperson of the anti-graft agency, Dele Oyewale, said a team of investigators have been put together to investigate the allegations.
Oyewale added that both Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan have been invited to appear before the commission for questioning at its Lagos office.
